"A Christmas Story"
"For All"
Ho Ho Ho
You all know who I am. I wouldn't be here this year if
it wasn't for a reporter and a group of town people that saved Christmas and myself from a wicked man that took me and tried
to stop me from making all the little boys and girls all over the world from not getting any gifts. He also stopped them from believing in me and in Christmas.
The story starts off in an apartment in a big city on the East Coast, with a
reporter by the name of Joe. As Joe was sitting, reading a newspaper the phone rang. So let's just
listen in and see what happens.....
The Phone Call
"I wonder who that could be this hour of the night", Joe said
to himself, as he got up from the sofa to answer the phone.
"Hello" Joe said, with the phone by his ear. "Hi Joe, how are you doing? Do you
know who this is?"
"No I don't know who this is" Joe replied. "It's Freddy, you know, the "Fredster"! "Oh
yea Freddy, how have you been? I haven't talked to you in years".
"What have you been up too since I saw you last?" If I remember correctly,
you wanted to be a painter. I paint, but not the kind of painting you do."
"Hey Joe, are you still a nosy reporter"? "Yea, why" Joe said in a wondering voice.
"I need to see you, really I do. I know it's about three weeks before
Christmas, but it's really important "
"Sure I'll come, just tell me how to get there ok, and I'll leave as
soon as I can," Joe said in a worried voice.
Freddy did not tell Joe the name of the town, he just told him to draw
a map according to the directions that he gives him.
Joe was confused because he couldn't place a town in that area. Evidently,
the town was soo small that it wasn't even on the Map.
Freddy told Joe, not to worry, that if he followed his directions exactly as
he told him, he wouldn't get lost. "Don't worry Joe, you'll see it" Freddy said. But, he
did make Joe promise not to tell anyone where he was going.
So, let's see what happens to Joe as he gets ready for his trip..........
Freddy sounded really worried, so I told him that I would be on my way, first thing
in the morning.
"Gee, I might get a good story out of this, I sure could use one!
My boss hasn't been to happy with my performance these days".
"I better start packing right now and get a good nights sleep,
before I leave for my long trip in the morning".............
Joe couldn't sleep that night. He was restless going over the phone
conversation that he had with Freddy, the night before. He was also wondering if his car was going to be able to make
the long trip.
When Joe got up the next morning, first thing he did was make his coffee and have a
bowl of Cereal. After making sure that everything in his apartment was neat and tidy, he began to load up his car for the
long trip ahead.
As Joe was getting ready to leave, he remembered that he had forgotten to call
his boss. So he ran back upstairs to call him.
He told him that he would be gone for a few weeks because he had a lead on a "Big Scoop",
but couldn't tell him anything till he got back. Not knowing if this was going to be a big story or not, Joe didn't think there would be any harm in telling a little white lie.
After Joe made sure that everything was taken care of at home, and made sure he
had his map, he was on his way......
